Huhh.. It has been a few hectic days full of different emotions I'd say. Not sure if I can even remember. We were supposed to stay in Hogsback until Saturday but Natalie (Swedish girl who actually has relatives in Vantaa where I'm from!) was hosting a get together for Lucia day (which we celebrate on the 13th of December) in her new home and we wanted to go there and see all the guys so we left earlier.
The next day I woke up before 7am to the voice of the land lady. Oh my f**%€&g god what do I do now?!?! Why is she here?!?!?! Please angels don't let her open the door and come in. Tuuli sent me a message, she had woken up to her voice as well. We texted our plan and I stayed under the blanket listening to music or something so that I wouldn't manifest things that I didn't want to happen by thinking of them. I put some clothes on so that when Tuuli opened the door I would be ready to leave the room and go in hers. The land lady was gone already but the maid was there. We locked the door and because we still had the car, we went to the port for breakfast. I took cash out of the atm (R1200) and left it in a public toilet, but remembered it and ran back and a nice woman had it in her hands and gave it to me when I knocked the door. I also called a tattoo studio and was ready to get a tattoo but when we got there they said that everyone is busy and we have to schedule a time for next week. I told them I won't be here so I didn't get a tattoo. It would be a dolphin, small and simple, maybe I'll get one later, when the stars align and all goes well haha.
On Sunday Suzie invited us to her new home (everyone's moving ey?) for braai (local word for barbeque) and the house was soooooo beautiful! Another girl, Karla (local) was living there because it was her parents house, and one guy as well and they had a yard and everything. The house was so nicely decorated and the people were awesome. I had booked a night bus to Cape Town at 21.30 and was a little (a lot) anxious about if I'm going to get there in time and filled with mixed feelings. Last evening in PE, last time with these faces. For connections world wide, bless social media. Tuuli and Solly took me to the bus and all went well. Thank you xx
I had booked five nights in a dorm in a backpackers called African Soul Surfer. Amazing place!! It's in Muizenberg Cape Town which is beautiful as well. Green mountains and the ocean, white sand and waves, surfing and skateboarding. I had woken up in every stop at petrol stations and for the sunrise and was pretty tired when I got to the backpackers. The check-out time was at 11 and after that the cleaning so I had breakfast and did some work while I waited. The check-in process was cool the guy Mandla was getting his short treds done and was hurting but soo chill, I liked the way he spoke. After finger prints and passport stuff I got the key and was taken to my room and shown where's what. So many new and interesting people that I stayed in the whole evening. It was a game night but I had to do some dancing so I was in our room for a bit while my roommates where downstairs. From the window I saw three guys skateboarding outside so I took my camera and went out. I asked them if I could take some pictures while they skate. Two of them left but we scheduled same time tomorrow and one stayed. I noticed three young local boys leaning on a wall and took pictures of them as well and one of them started to make moves. They came closer and we hang out a bit. A couple showed up with a ball and the kids wanted to play with it. They were really good. I told them that they are my first models now. They were thirsty and I had a bottle with me which was empty I don't know in seconds. I asked if they want bananas and the happiness in their face I mean "Yeah yeah yeah we love bananans!" Went to get them and more water. They told me that they're gonna jog home now and home is pretty far. Before they left they hugged me and said they'd come again tomorrow.
I also talked with my soul sister Lizette and it's always so good to talk with her because we create new ideas while we talk. We're gonna do some cool things together in the future. Funny story I met her last summer in Hanko, we were roommates and working in a surf bar and we were talking about crazy stuff for example that we've know each other before, probably were once mermaids in another planet and something close to Cleopatra as well :D hahahah funny (coz true). And actually there are some myths here about mermaids, so might as well be that while we were mermaids we came to Earth somewhere around South Africa. ;D
The next day there were more skater boys and I was taking pictures of them and learning new stuff about photography because one of them was studying it and also there was another guy taking pictures with his huge lens who taught me a few things. I also felt like cruising, I have a longboard back home and while I was cruising around the parking place (it's round so was perfect for that) I felt so good! It was a very pretty sunset in the evening. This place is really amazing. The view from the balcony, the stuff you can do here, the chill vibe and the people (definitely jatkoon). And it's not too expensive in the dorm, R190 so about 13€ a night.
I love it here. Stuff just happens. More next time XX Cecca
