Mermaids, pirates and the last bits of Cape Town

Where was I... In Muizenberg. Funny things happened there I got to say. The other day I was in the balcony and I saw another local kid skateboarding. Took my camera and went down but he wasn't there anymore. A young girl, Kelly (17) asked me what I was looking for and we started talking. She gives surf lessons at Surfshack Surfschool that's just below African Soul Surfer. So she was sitting there waiting for customers when I showed up with a camera looking for something. We talked about who we are, what we do and why we're here. We talked about what we want to do, where we want to go and what we want to be and how to get there. By focusing on your desires and slooowly letting them unfold in Divine timing.

I told her my wild imagination's understanding of mermaids and their part of human history. There are mermaids in a star called Sirius (don't remember which one) and long time ago some of them came on Earth. The story goes here in South Africa that something came down with a crash and everything was washed on shore, including mermaids. They came across pirates at the time and they ... What? Fell in love? Probably some at least. Got raped or murdered? Possibly. Pirates were alcoholics and living on ships without women (we all know what men are capable of doing in situations like these). But what I see everywhere here are souls of pirates or souls of mermaids, but many look like they have both in their blood. South African girls and women are so beautiful, and so are men. But because of the history of being pirates (tho not the only reason), there has been bad karma in the native community. Mermaid souls from all over the world are returning and changing the world for their family members so things are getting better. Dreams take time and big dreams take really long time and with patience, gratitude and the power of manifestation they become achievable. Karma must be faced, suffered and healed before you're free of it. Everyone is responsible of their own karma. It can come from this life or from past lives and the soul has needed to learn some lessons in the next life. So we were talking a lot and I told her that I feel like we've known each other as mermaids. Maybe we even came down form the star haha.

She actually made this mermaid blanket herself (!)
I connected with other mermaid and pirate souls during the next two days. Took four pirates (12-14?yo) to the store for chicken pies and bananas. Someone shouted at them from the car that if they touch me they'll kill them. M-mm, these kids would never hurt me. They're my soul family. I would have wanted to get Enrik new clothes, because he was wearing same ones every day, but ended up feeding him and his friends and spending time with them only. If anyone wants to send them some surf & skate (or any) clothes, they would love them I'm sure. And if someone wants to connect with local township kids and be their friend or support on their way to their brighter future, they would love you. They are really good at skateboarding considered that they don't own boards but only borrows someones when someone lets them. And it's not like what I've seen before, trying a trick and stopping then trying again, these boys stay on the board and get creative.

One evening I was hanging out with Brian, white rasta, who had an idea that we should go for a drive in his new roofless car that he just got that day. He was going to be a surf taxi driver. It was pretty cold and we both had sleevless' on. We had no phones and no money with us, only the car keys. Before we hit the car he asked if we should get our jackets but we didn't. The view south from Muizenberg, even though it kept on changing was beautiful from every angle. I felt so lucky to be able to see it. No idea how long we had driven because my focus was on sightseeing - starry sky, beautiful buildings, mountains, the ocean and the moon, Muizenbergs lights growing smaller and the next towns lights growing bigger - before the car shut down. Shiiieeet. Brian tried many times to switch it back on but nothing happened. I was about to start pushing the car when a couple offered their help. We needed to push it somewhere where it could get a little help from the ground as well and another two guys tagged along. The engine didn't start and we parked it next to a pub and called the mechanic. I was cold and thirsty so I went in the pub for some water and warmth. Two guys were behind the bar and they were so interested in talking with me that after a while their boss asked me to leave so they may continue with their work. I went to the next place that had a fire outside and stayed close to it and started stretching. The mechanic came and because I was cold, someone took me back to the backpackers by their car. Bummer I didn't have my camera with me, but I guess some stories are only meant to be found in our memories.

Hmm what else happened there.. Oh yeah earlier that day I went to the beach by myself and two kids, a boy and a girl were looking like they really wanted to come and talk to me but were too shy. They came closer and closer and eventually we started chatting. They were from Tanzania and were living here because of their parents work (the boy probably was just on holiday). The girl had an older sister whom she went to get there after asking if they could have my number. Haven't whatsapped me yet hehe. Also there was a wounded seal on the shore, a shark had bit him. I felt like I needed to do something and went closer. Many people did the same but none of us actually did anything. I went to the lifeguards or whatever they might have been, beach security and asked if they could call some place that can help him. They told me that this is how nature works but they will call someone if the seal stays on the shore, but not yet because it might leave. Excuse me? So people are allowed to do nasty things to nature and all the animals but when it comes to helping them we shouldn't involve? The stupidest thing I've heard in a while. Even animals help humans when in need. I felt like going closer to the seal and I don't know hugging him or something but some of the beach security and an older guy were there trying to get all the people far from him saying do not get close, there's a shark bite and that's the circle of life etc. I was so annoyed I had to leave. Now that I think about it I should've just followed my gut.

The plan was to go surfing with Kelly and GoPro the next day but my face and lower lip got burned even though I was out only for two hours so I stayed inside. Came out to chill with her and a few others and I had my cards with me so they got guidance from the universe. Kelly suggested we'd go to the beach to do yoga and take pictures so we went. When we headed back I saw a homeless looking older man and again felt like I needed to go talk to him. I followed him and touched him. How are you? First he asked for money but I asked him to tell me his story and he started talking. He became happy and said he's gonna go to the toilet and while he was there Enrik and two other kids came to me. Enrik wasn't feeling well, he had thrown up earlier. He was lying on a wall (mure? stonebench type of thing?) and I gave him some reiki healing. After that I took the boys to the store to get them something to eat. On the way to the store I saw three men sitting on the ground next to something that looked like a shelter for a homeless man and at least one of them really looked like a homeless man. We stopped there and I asked them what their story was and was sure that they were old souls, their eyes were so deep. Maybe they were pirates and had some karma to pay in this life.

One morning I asked my roommate Valentin (I stayed in a mixed dorm) who was volunteering at a dog shelter if I could join him. It was raining and we took a train and a minibus to the shelter where I got to chill with 3 sick puppies. They had some kind of a rash that I could've caught as well but didn't. The lady who worked there told me that she had caught it each time she spent time with dogs who had it but I guess I was lucky. Or healthy in other ways so that it's not hard for me to stay healthy. In the evening there was a live band coming to the hostel and I met the guys while I was eating in the shared kitchen. They seemed cool and we chilled a bit before they started playing. The other one played acoustic guitar and sang and the other played electric guitar. The music was soooo nice I had to go to the other room to do my own stretch dancing and I asked the guys if I could use their music in my yoga dance videos. After the gig I chilled with them again and left with them to continue the evening. I saw Cape Town from yet another view and it is so freaking beautiful. Now that I have family there I'll definitely go back.

Next day I had booked a night bus back to Port Elizabeth from where me, Tuuli and Paiju (Tuuli's roommate in Turku) were to start our road trip. Before I left African Soul Surfer I met a lady who lives in Cape Town but needed a break from her life. Someone close to her had stolen her ideas behind her back and she was feeling many emotions. I loved her lunch, it was avocado, asparagus and tuna with some sauce she made just now of coconut oil, vinegar, lemon and some other I can't recall now and she let me taste it and gave me some of the asparagus. My lunch (or breakfast) was pumpernickel bread with hummus and avocado and tomatoes, muesli with kiwi, nuts, goji berries and almond milk. After eating I took the muesli, almond milk, nuts and goji berries with three sets of plates and spoons outside where Enrik and two other kids were and let them have breakfast as well. Kelly wasn't there because of her day off. I left her some henna tattoo ink and a mehandhi tutor book at the Surfshack so she could start doing those if she wanted to. I'll get more in India (NEXT WEEK!!!).

I hugged the kids goodbye and told them I'll come back and hopped on the train to the city. Next to me came a family of four cousins and their grandma and the kids looked like mermaids, especially the 11 year old girl. Their eyes were so beautiful and innocent. Their grandma told me a thing or two about their lives before they hopped off. So much new information every day that I don't remember everything, which is a bit sad because I love to hear peoples stories. They give me more perspective for the past and the present. But even though I don't actively remember what I hear, my subconscious does so it's all good.

In the city I left my stuff to the info while I went to look for a grocery store. I saw a guy selling something and talked to him and asked if he wants something from the store (why? No idea). I continued and asked for directions to the store and passed by a café from where I ended up buying an avocado tomato toast and five small books about consciousness for example conscious cooking, story about Krishna, the laws of nature and something about astral travelling. Told the guy who worked there about mermaids and pirates as well and he was really fascinated. From the store I got strawberries and a chocolate thing for the info lady who looked after my bags, something healthy for the bus ride and to the guy but he didn't want anything hehe. One hungry looking woman asked for food and I gave her my other smoothie. The bus was two and a half hours late but I was fine stretching at the train station. Also I was looking at two girls who were looking at me and after a while I went to them and gave them nail stickers I had bought earlier. These days I just follow my intuition and somehow it tells me to do things like these. I know it's kinda weird but I gotta do what I feel like doing. And hopefully, the things I do will go a long way.

So this was last Saturday. Took many days to write this story because it has been so much going on since our road trip begun on Sunday. Hopefully I'm able to post the next story soon, universe speaking louder and louder. These days I'm letting God handle all things above me (Jhene Aiko) so bring it on, I'm listening. Tomorrow is Tuuli's birthday and we're on our way to Johannesburg (finishing writing in the car) and tonight we might go out with Masi and his friends. So this weekend we party. But I'll write everything I publicly want to share. If not for the public then at least for my journal. Enjoying the last days in South Africa before flying to my other home India <3

More pictures next time <3Cecca
